Is Summer a Good Time to Buy Silver?

The summer of 2011 saw silver prices peak in late April as the white metal reached $48.70 per ounce. 2012 has thus far been radically different. The silver market has recently shown more stability at much lower valuations. Precious metals plunged in spring 2012, although it is still difficult to speculate about its movement for the rest of the year.

At prices below $30 per ounce in mid-summer, is now a good time to buy silver? Many analysts say “Yes.” Silver might be of particular interest to those who do not own investment grade silver. Investors may want to buy silver now since silver may have the possibility of greater upside potential than gold. Additionally, silver prices usually increase in September as a result of the festival season in India.
